Day four with chantix can't stay awake feel horrible trying to make it through
Another day down. Sure isn't a miracle pill!lol still cutting down though. Just have to keep reminding myself nothing worthwhile is easy! Staying busy definitely helps as well as not goin to smoking area for breaks at work. Minute by minute I'm finding a way to live without smoking. Stay strong!!
lonit73 everyone reacts differently as this starts working on the mind & body but if your really not feeling well talk to your doctor if you can. Is this a possible side affect or is everybody experiencing this?
Sp did you feel this way....groggy......chime in please & congrats, hows the breathing, coughing going?
Hi I found out my extreme grogginess was from taking dramamine with the chantix for nausea like the pharmacist told me to. So dealing with a little nausea but not too bad.
Well today is day 6. Sunday smoked 8 cigs. Yesterday, Monday, smoked 7. Definitely thinkn about it less. A little irritable, might not be from the chantix though. My wife smokes and I struggle when I see her smoking. Overall getting more hopeful everyday. Dreams have been a lil more vivid but no big deal. Breathing has been fine, lungs are clearing a little, was a pack a day smoker. Making progress!
Yes it would be wonderful if a partner would be more supportive huh. I always wanted/wished someone (my kids) would have said to me "I dont want you to die mom" it may or may not have helped, I'm almost 2packs/day, got worse when my husbands mental disorders kicked into overdrive & reeked havoc on me & my family more........but that on another site......
So your lungs are clearing, WOW, thats what I'm more curious about as I walk my dogs 3x per week for 45mins. & started this year having labored breathing & more coughing.
Keep us posted on your progress.
well im on day 7 and feeling much better I still havent quit but am cutting down some, 21 years smoking over 2 packs a day. Hoping day 8 brings me closer to quitting. Hope everyone else is doing well. For those that already quit on chantix what day was it for you that you stopped smoking altogether?
I quit on day 10. This was my third try on Chantix so I knew what to expect. Friday Nov. 4 was 8 weeks without a cigarette. I never went that long before. However, I did take a puff of one on day 3 but kicked myself all over the place. Plus it didn't calm me own or pick me up, so what was the point. I no longer think about them every hour. Maybe only once or twice a day. I'm still trying hard not to just drive into a gas station and buy a pack, but who am I fooling...just me. But I take it 1 day at a time always saying to myself that if I want one so bad I can have one. I just don't act on it. I hated the feeling of being tied to something. I actually walk out of the house empty handed sometimes. No cigarettes, no lighter, no pocketbook. It's liberating. The side effects will stop. I miss the weird dreams. They were so vivid and detailed. Look for the changes in your body that you will see as every week goes by. I just noticed that my voice has gotten better. I love to sing (when alone) and I found I couldn't hit any high notes. After 6 weeks, I noticed I could sing some songs and hit the notes I couldn't sing before. There's no coughing, or phlegm. I am not short of breath and can smell and taste food better. It doesn't take long to see improvement . After 21 days, all the nicotine is out of your body. I plan to stay on it till I am sure I won't ever pick a cigarette up again. Good luck. This drug is a miracle and my only hope. Cold turkey is impossible. :)
Hello..doing well. Day 8..... Yesterday I smoked 1.5 cigarettes. A miracle itself. Almost there. Trying not to be to hard on myself. I haven't gone backwards... My goal is to keep moving forward one day at a time. Let me tell you it's crazy at home too! My wife & live in mother in law both smoke mY brand! Both smoke in house & wife smokes in our bedroom. If I can quit so can you, I believe that!!
