Doing better than I thought I would

Posted in Group:

Day 5, it'll be day 6 shortly without using the chantix. I quit using the chantix 2 days ago, because it felt like my head was really cloudy, and I was having a really hard time focusing on the day to day operations. There was no way I was going to be able to keep taking it, and run a boat, and crew at the same time, so I shut it down. I'm now kinda chewin toothpicks, destroying lolipops, and about to break my jaw chewing gum. I find the chantix really helped with the cravings, but I really needed to give it a rest, and get my head back. It's all good, still smoke free. I may resume taking the pills thurs when I go home, anxiety is always a lil more when I transition back to home life from the boat life, I don't know what do y'all think. Thanx

I found that once my body got used to the medication, it worked really well. The only side effect that I couldn't get used to was having a cloudy head. I'm so used to being a few steps ahead of myself, and on the chantix I couldn't really think. It wasn't depression or anything like that, just a cloudy head. In my opinion, it really works, I'm proud to say tomorrow will make 7 days smoke free. I haven't taken it in a few days, but the days I did I find it was helpful.

Congrats, I thought my head would be cloudy from withdrawal of nicotine even though its a stimulant. I'm a heavy smoker 30yrs. & know I've got to do this as I'm now experiencing breathing issues that started this year even though I walk 3xs per week & I'm sick of coughing..........speaking of which, hows the coughing portion going?

No coughing anymore, a truly wonderful feeling, I've quit counting the days now and I'm celebrating the first bitrthday in an extremely long time without smoking tomorrow on the 16th. I honestly can't believe I'm actually doing this, and keeping my sanity. I'm proud of myself, and anyone else commiting to something life changing, stay strong my friends
